Darrell and I live in Lakewood, Colorado, USA with our Black Russian Terriers.....The Beginning .... We got our first Show Dog shortly after we got married in 1988. He was a beautiful Chinese Shar-Pei named "Amaximis How Hot Can You Get" (we called him Howie) from Troy Cashman of Amaximis Kennels. "Howie" was our introduction to the Sport of Showing Dogs! Through mutual friends we met Judy Ferland of Jaeland Kennels and became very interested in the Portuguese Water Dog. Judy is a wonderful friend and a great Mentor! "Jaeland-Del Sur's Midnite Cruz" ("Cruzier") sent us on our way to a wonderful adventure showing our Portuguese Water Dog(s). Yes! The group grew! While traveling with the Water Dogs Judy and I met Cindy Stumm of Aristes Kennels in California and were introduced to the The Black Russian Terrier! I was mesmerized!!! Cindy was showing a magnificent Black Russian Terrier named "Tuuz". The rest is history! We had to have a Tuuz puppy! The first week in May of 1996 we opened our hearts to a darling little puppy we named "Sergei" ("Aristes Double Axle Trio"). Sergei opened up the world of The Black Russian Terrier!!!

BREEDING PHILOSOPHY

Hopefully they will give you an insight about some our methods in Breeding and raising our dogs) We strive to produce Black Russian Terrier puppies with excellent temperament, structure, health and natural beauty. Our program is enhanced by our ongoing study of modern genetics, health issues, history, purpose of the breed and pedigrees. We also do health testing of hips, elbows, patellas, eyes, thyroid and heart of the sire and dam before breeding. The dam is provided with the finest prenatal care possible including the use of WhelpWise. Our puppies are raised in our home with constant socialization and puppy stimulation using the (While I realize this is quite lengthy it is very much worth reading and gives you a better understanding of what we try to instill in our puppies) "Super Dog" Program. techniques. All of our puppies are temperament tested at 7 weeks. We strive to matched each one with owners that are compatible with their personalities. Our puppies have their first shots, worming, Cerf exams and are Micro-Chipped before they go to their new homes. DeSagres puppies are sold with a contract and AKC registration papers. We refund a portion of the cost for health testing by the owner upon reciept of the results. The knowledge collected helps us with our breeding program. Our methods result in puppies with superior minds and bodies that are loyal and very strong in character. DeSagres puppies are versatile as Obedience, Agility and Dog Show competitors, personal protection dogs and most of all loving family members. Our litters are planned with the careful consideration of many factors. First and formost we breed to improve our line and to preserve some of the old working lines. Thus we do not breed often.
